Wake Citizens for Quality Education is a coalition of concerned Wake County citizens working for fundamental reform of the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS).
WCPSS has presented Wake voters with a simple choice:
- Vote YES on the bond and face huge debts, increased taxes, more reassignments and less choice in schools;
- Vote NO and force fundamental reform in the WCPSS.
This bond should be defeated - because the WCPSS Schools needs reform! The School Board and bureaucracy have lost the trust and confidence of parents and taxpayers.
The current system refuses to consider all alternatives. They do symbolic things when necessary - usually around the time they need more money - but they do not make systematic changes.
Those reforms and alternatives include building more classrooms in a cost effective manner and giving parents more educational choices.
That is why voting NO is a vote for BETTER SCHOOLS and MORE CHOICES.
